In the collection below I have gathered together a small sampling of photographs that offer a glimpse into the extraordinary visual landscape that surrounds us here in the eastern foothills of Oregon's Coast Range.

The Coast Range mountains run for over 200 miles along the Oregon coast and push eastward from the Pacific Ocean 30 to 60 miles inland, forming a maze of low elevation peaks punctuated by steep valleys covered in lush temperate rain forest.

 

My wife and I (and best friend Shiva, the poodle-retriever) live on the outskirts of a small town that is nestled between the Coast Range mountains to the west and the Willamette River to the east.  Our home/studio sits up on a little hill at the end of the road where town meets country.  You can walk through our backyard gate and proceed on a hike that will take you directly into an 8,000 acre public forest that has more than 80 miles of  road and trail.
